No, I don't understand, because your facts are wrong. Jews have been living in Israel for at least 10,000 years. So yes, that whole region has more Muslims than Jews, but the Jews have just as much of a right to create a state for themselves in Israel, as all the Muslims have to create states surrounding Israel: Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Turkey, Afghanistan, etc.
As far as equating our stance versus Cuba to the Arab stance against the Jews, I think that is so utterly characteristic of today's amoral relativism. Our stance against Cuba is based on the fact that Castro is a dictator and he oppresses the Cubans, abuses human rights, and restricts freedom. The Arab stance against Israel is that they want to murder every Jew in their midst so that the Jews can't have a state of their own, and they can make the entire region Muslim.
There is no comparison. You and everyone else need to really cut the amoral relativism out. It only serves to empower groups who stand for human rights violations, murder, oppression, dictatorship/theocracy, etc. If you think about it for one moment in blindingly real terms, I think you'd agree that living in a free and democratic world is 100% better than living in a theocracy where you have few freedoms, your wife is nothing more than chattle, and your sons are taught to hate anyone not of your religion.
Get real and stop trying to defend the Arabs on relativistic merits. There is no comparison and there should be no tolerance for the hateful culture they have created. |
