PORT MOODY -- Port Moody Police say they suspect Indo-Canadian gang activity was behind a shooting outside an apartment complex in which a stray bullet struck an innocent woman in the head.

And they say at least two other apartments were hit in Friday's shooting.

Laurie Tinga was sitting in her apartment watching T.V. when she was hit by a bullet that lodged in her brain, leaving her in grave condition.

Police say they believe drugs may be behind the shooting.

They also say two other apartments were hit by bullets, which narrowly missed more residents.

Police did stop the driver of a pickup truck that fled the scene, but let him go and are looking for other suspects.
