"A big problem is the expectation to work overtime during crunches." Boo Hoo! I had one boss tell me that 50 hours a week should be the MINIMUM we should be putting in, day in and day out, but my stock options would make me rich! Some weeks approaching deadlines I racked up 100 hours or more, thanks to executives and marketers setting deadlines without the vaguest notion of what was needed to acheive them. Nothing motivates you like a glossy ad announcing your product before you've even finished it! The unemployment may be less for EE's than CS grads. As I'm not chasing that path anymore, I really don't care. Stats concerning it stick in my noggin though.
