The Anti-Scientific Left: Gay Marriage

The last little post was popular so I'll throw out another one.

A scientific approach to the question of legalizing gay marriage would entail anthropological research to identify cultures in which gay marriage existed and explore the ramifications of that.

The problem is that its hard to find any such cultures. The closest you can come up with are some tribal cultures where homosexual men find outlets only by disguising themselves as women and as "women" they marry men. That is very different from true gay marriage. And the fact that in those cultures, gay men have to disguise their gender shows that homosexuality per se is not openly tolerated. In addition, there have been other cultures which were tolerant of homosexuality but even there one didn't find gay marriage practiced.

Now when one realizes there have been and are thousands of human cultures, it is downright amazing that none sanction anything like the "gay marriage" the left is advocating for America today. This fact is so significant, we should be asking if there are not very strong Darwinian reasons (even if we haven't identify what they are) why gay marriage is a very bad idea for any society. How else can one explain the absence of gay marriage in ANY other culture?
