I received this in an email from someone "connected" and am curious as to what everyone here thinks:

"Israel was main reason we went into Iran.
XXXXX said that is correct but it was seconded by two other things: we
had guarantees we would get the oil and also huge lucrative contracts
for Halliburton. XXXXX went to Lebanese Embassy last night and sat
next to scholar who said fifteen years ago Wolfowitz and "Pearl"
outlined a plan for Israel...quoting XX, "and others developed a
strategy paper for israel which called for the destruction of syria's
and iraq's military and economic powers. the intention was to start
with syria and not iraq. so there is nothing new in YYYY's remarks to
ZZ ... we all new this will happen and why long time ago. what
convinced our side even more were the two other reasons i gave you."
