Scrapps,
This thread's your baby (I don't mean to say you are a bitch) but you created it so you had better not sleep on the job. :-)

www.fortune.com has good things to say about 3Com:

At the top of the new roster are two current darlings of Wall Street, both with sizzling earnings: oil services giant Global Marine (No. 1) and PC retailer CompUSA (No. 3). Not surprisingly, technology stocks are well represented on the list. Among the more promising entries are Maxim Integrated Products (No. 48), an innovative semiconductor maker; McAfee; and networking powerhouse 3Com (No. 95). The ordinarily sleepy energy industry makes a strong showing. Sixteen oil and gas companies, including Global Marine and fast comers EVI (No. 4) and Cliffs Drilling (No. 18), highlight a sector that's currently profiting from an increasing global demand for fossil fuels.
