I think the Rs will pay in 2006, but not too badly. Certainly, the Rs have mucked things up much worse than the Ds did in the early 1990s who were booted out of office with a swift kick in 1994. It is amazing how people tollerate getting screwed by Rs and actually support what is not in their best interest. Bush's presidency has been a trainwreck. The Rs have been great for the top 1%. Everyone else can bend over and take it. I do think that Bush is ruining the political landscape for the Rs in 2008. There are too many swing and even red states that are giving Bush low approval ratings. No way a R wins in 2008.
