I think it was you that was interested in some companies developing food additives or something that gave artificial salt flavoring, or sweets or something?

I saw an interesting paper, published yesterday, got a lot of press. Seems there are fat taste receptors in the tongue (at least in mice), and the receptor is CD36.

I meant to see if any commercial interests were on the study, but forgot. That could be very promising if you developed a product that was a ligand for CD36 and added it to food, to fool the tongue into thinking you were eating cheesecake when actually you were eating fat-free yogurt or something.

Obesity is getting to be a more and more serious concern in the US.....
