I didn't post the article for the New Orleans stuff - I thought it was interesting to see rumblings from Republican moderates.

Rejecting ideologically zealous leadership is one of the first steps toward a new move to the center. I think we will see the first signs in moderate Republicans setting their own directions for the 2006 elections.

And that starts with party discipline in Congress - or lack thereof - and the fractures we have seen in the polls lately.

If Bush had a 61% overall approval rating instead of just 61% of self-proclaimed conservatives, we would probably hear a different tune from the Republican caucus on the Hill.
