Housing prices throughout Santa Cruz county have close to the worst price/income affordability ratios in the state, I believe. Related to commuters to SV co-existing with dirt poor farm workers. Other than the Steinbeck museum, downtown Salinas is best seen once only, and from a fast moving car. Hell, Tracy and Modesto are exurbs of SV now.
