Not surprised. Italy, through whatever mechanism or reason, managed to insert itself into the middle of this whole mess. Were they they pawns of the (US)neocons, or were they playing their own game? Hard to say which. Regardless the Italians are involved, either by request or on their own initiative. Either way, their attempts to sweep it under the rug shouldn't be allowed. That is, if they want a democratic system...
