What I don't see much mention of is how the CIA was emasculated during the Clinton years....funding cut, and assets taken from the ground in various places. It's really no wonder that we didn't have good information.

It wasn't just the CIA.. DOD intelligence was cut 40% during the Clinton years.

I wish I could elaborate on some of the things I've seen, and conversations I've had with folks here on the ground..

But suffice it say.. People know there are problems that still need to be fixed. But there are some powerful interests out there that don't want to do what's necessary to be more effective in fighting these terrorist networks.

Btw, for all those Marines out there... Just read in Stars and Stripes that the Marines have been placed under the control of the Special Operations Command..

Good thing too.. That's who is going to win this war... (not to detract from the efforts of other services).
