Re: lol,
the "insurgent" problem is getting pretty close to you Gustav...

Well, Belgium is another proposition as far as immigration is concerned. Belgian urban planners didn't park immigrants and poor natives in derelict suburbs several miles away from big cities. That's why, in Brussels for instance, you can find immigrant neighborhoods next door to posh white-inhabited "villages" and only the streetwise can tell you exactly where the "borders" lie..... On the other hand, we did have a few "warning shots" in the past. I remember back in the late 1990s there was a flare-up in Forest (a Brussels district) because local Moroccans were denied access to a nightclub.... I think another difference between Belgium and France is the level of immigrants' expectations --hence my "leninist" analysis(*). French intellectuals and politicians alike keep bragging about their beloved republic, Republican values, and France as a beacon of successful integration... and, mind you, they are RIGHT! Up to a point, of course. Belgium, unlike France, is a bourgeois kingdom that never got herself besotted with egalitarianism. I guess that's why you'll never see a Belgian Prime Minister visiting an African country under cries of "More visas! More visas!"
