<Anybody who has friends/third parties using/evaluating ASND/CSCC's products? Please share your info. We need some fundamental assessment.>
A couple of days ago (what seems like several hundred thousand posts ago), I noted that I could not convince my ISP to use ASND products.
Well, this is a 3rd tier ISP. I'm now exploring moving my law firm to a 1st tier ISP (Goodnet) with a T1 hookup (and a T1 from my home to my law firm's router). Anyway, as part of this process, I again asked if we could use ASND products.
My service people who are working with Goodnet came back to me and said they would in fact use the ASND Pipeline 130 and that it would be a good move. So I will be purchasing 2 of them (one for my home, one for the firm...sorry, it won't be til next quarter). Interestingly, it was pointed out to me that the ASND Pipeline 130, at about $1,000, was less expensive that the CSCO product and that it had better multi-access functionality (ISDN, T1, modem, etc.) They were really quite pleased with the product, that was clear to me. It was the best I'd felt about ASND in quite some time, after having watched its market moves. I mean, they have a product that is reasonably priced, that I can buy two of, and that has functions that I would want. This is cool!
That said, the darn stock will still probably drop somewhere between 1 and 35 on Monday, but it sure seems to me to be on sale even before it drops. (Heck, maybe it will actually go up, stranger things have happened.)
