GPS OEMs by: sells_too_soon Long-Term Sentiment: Strong Buy 11/04/05 10:33 am Msg: 11478 of 11489 All built-in GPS units are OEMed by electronics companies: Alpine, Pioneer. Garmin is working on OEM deals. The problem with built-in systems is that you don't need them for everyday driving, and you can't take them with you when you go on vacation and use a rental car. It also takes 3 years to design them into a car. This industry is moving too fast for that. Its like trying to sell built-in CB radios or car phones.
