Craig Newmark and others like him, independent wealthy public minded citizens, are really our only hope of bringing about real change now, in how the public is informed. Does anyone seriously think they are going to get objective, unbiased news from the likes of Rupert Murdoch, General Electric, Disney, or Viacom?
Multinational conglomerates all. They use their news divisions to curry favor with government. Maybe Newmark and Soros will team up and buy out a major outlet, wouldn't THAT be a hoot. I can hear the publican screams now.
