Darffot: Thanks for your Barron's clip of the interview and your analysis of it. Very helpful, imo.

In comparing VLO to COP, I'd say there are several choices that could be made by a potential buyer:

>Neither company is a buy at current price and prospects.
>VLO is the better buy than COP, buy VLO.
>COP is the better buy than VLO, buy COP.
>Either company is a good buy compared to other possible alternatives: buy either.
>Either company is a good buy compared to other possible alternatives: buy both.

I'm one who favors the latter. Both look like good values, both might have their problems (COP maybe more so with foreign exposure). I'm a buyer of both.

Jmo, and my alternatives are that I could be wrong on either, both or neither -g-
