France has never won a war. It now appears France won't win a civil war. Is that possible?

Napoleon did quite well there for a considerable while. But I don't think the French ever recovered from his adventures.

The question to my mind, is, are the European governments democratic at all? Will they respond to the deep discontent of the majority of the people to this state of affairs? In The Netherlands, the answer seems to be 'yes', and we have seen a major change in attitude in the last year. In France, the jury is still out. If this government does not get the situation under some kind of control, we may see Le Pen win the next election. Then the s--- will really hit the fan.
