Only heard of Y10 on the news for successful test flied to Tibet in early 80's. Then, I could't find any news about Y10. Only Y7(copy An24?) and Y12 were in small production. Maybe the leadership concern its safety and reliability. But overall, it was a mistake to stop the volume production. People were misleaded by the deal of bringing in and assembling MD-82(DC-10-80). After initial scores of successful production in Shanghai, this project was stopped after MD mergered with Boeing. The airplanes were mostly used in China only. I wll not be surprised to learn that the factory site is now used for the damn real estate development.
