AVNT says they may lose the charged officers...to prison??
On April 11, 1997, a criminal complaint was filed against, among others, the Company, Gerald C. Hsu, President, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors, Y. Eric Cho, Senior Vice President of Corporate Operations and a member of the Board of Directors, Y. Z. Liao, Vice President, and three other employees of the Company for allegedly violating various California Penal Code Sections relating to the theft of trade secrets. The Company and the individuals above have pleaded not guilty and are awaiting further proceedings. The criminal complaint could result in a loss of these individuals and could have other material adverse effects on the Company.
This soft wording is from AVNT, the "indisputable" champion of releases. They themselves are not as sure about the future as one here is. I continue to stick with the opinions of my contacts, known institutions, and AVNT itself in this case. If they are concerned, investors should be too.
FELONIES are not light little fluffy charges that just go poof. There is hard solid evidence in hand. I will stick with the evidence in my decision; when it can be touched, looked at, filed, and locked up by the prosecutions office, where I come from, that is not considered smoke. They do not consider it smoke either.
Everyone has their own opinion, and it will be fascinating to follow this to the end. Hopefully we will all be able to remain civil in our disagreements which will escalate; but as Geraldo says,"I promise to make this the most informative site on the net regarding the criminal and civil charges against AVNT and its leaders." Let's have fun. |
