is to address the fact that women can be anything- as long as they do all the other work they used to do as wives- if they are so silly as to want to have a family. That's bullshit, imo- and I can understand if women are pissed off about it.

Perhaps this argument is a disagreement about how we define success. I think it's been a success. Your daughters can follow any of life's endeavors they choose and for which they qualify. When I think back to when I was young, about how my going to college was a fairly remarkable thing, how I went there to get my Mrs degree, how I minored in secretarial training so I would have a skill to fall back on in case something happened to my husband and I had to get a job, I have to laugh. That battle has been won. Sure, there's mop up work to do, but we're clearly over the hump.

My notion of the objective of the movement was equal opportunity. We have it. It was a success. Period. If you're looking to equal results as a success measure, sure, you're disappointed. If you're looking at eradicating discrimination as a success measure, ditto. If you're looking to have it all rather than to have the opportunity to pick whichever you want from the menu, well, you'll never be satisfied.
