Call it phase one of a larger movement or a separate movement to be followed by another movement, I don't care. In either case, the first objective has been largely met. Time to define the objectives of the next phase/movement.

Taking a page from software development:

Windows 1.0 is comparable to Phase I of the Women's movement. It had the look and feel of what the future would look like, but Windows 1.0 didn't really work. You couldn't do anything with it. It frequently crashed.

We are now possibly in the phase comparable to Windows 3.0. Things are beginning to work. There is anticipation for the next upgrade. We can really achieve stuff with Windows 95. That will give us access to the Internet. There is lot of hope.

What are the objectives of the next Women's Movement upgrade?

You can't expect miracles.
You can't expect equal pay for equal work.
You can't expect equal opportunities.
You can't expect attitudes to change completely.

You can only expect that things will get better.

The WIMP (and I don't mean Windows, Icon, Mouse, Pull Down Menu) model may not be sufficient. We may need a new paradigm.
