The adminsitration claimed that Iraq was training and supporting terrorists not specifically Al Qaeda.

"
FALSE CLAIM -- BUSH AND CHENEY LINKED IRAQ TO AL QAEDA AND 9/11"

Yup, that is a false claim as wstera_02 has shown. Specifically it is false to claim that Bush and Cheney said Iraq was behind 9/11.

FALSE CLAIM -- NUCLEAR THREAT

Here there apparently was some false claims, and certainly a number of exaggerated ones on specific issues, and certainly the overall threat was exaggerated. It wasn't invented out of thin air, but it was, as we later found out, much more distant than what was earlier thought. Its possible that absent the invasion it could have eventually become a major problem, just as it had almost become a severe problem before Israel bombed Osirak and again before the US defeatd Iraq in the early 90s and imposed a sanction and inspection regime. How strong of possibility you think that was is likely to affect (and also possibly be affected by) your opinion of the war.
