Ah, Mulroney. I remember those days. Energy was much cheaper, and people were not thinking about peak oil. The softwood issue was shoved under the rug, to be litigated later. Softwood is now getting more attention in the US, but Canada is still being rather cuddly. I never see Canadians on the US TV political talk shows, trying to put some fire under the issue. Perhaps PM Martin should have boycotted the recent trade summit in Argentina, on the grounds that the US doesn't keep its trade agreements. That might have really blown the lid off!
