"Do you believe US military force should ever be used to liberate a non-US population? If so, under what circumstances?" Actually, I do. But not unilaterally or mostly unilaterally as in Iraq. Liberating populations is something that smacks too closely of colonialism, which has a bad name these days. A true, multi-lateral force wouldn't have the same problem. Yeah, yeah, I know. There are a large number of countries in the present force. But the number two force, the British, have never amounted to more than 10,000 or so. There are what? 150,000 American troops? I doubt if the rest of the coalition amounts to another 10,000 in toto.
