My position on Iraq is that Saddam Hussein is an evil dictator who presents a serious threat to international peace and security as do many other evil dictators. Under Saddam's rule, Iraq has engaged in far-reaching human rights abuses (as have other countries, many of them our "friends"- and we really better change that), been a state sponsor of terrorism (absolutely, like many other countries and even our country, we better change that), and has long sought to obtain and develop weapons of mass destruction, just like many other countries.

But unless we are actually threatened by Iraq (and I'm not just talking about someone having God whisper in their ear that Iraq is a problem) then I think it's still stupid to get this country embroiled in a war in the ME over it. Unless we were actually threated, it's just about guessing how to rearrange dominoes. I'm not willing to have any other mother's sons blown up over that- but the enthusiasm to sacrifice other people's children will vary. Clearly yours is much greater than mine. Bully for you.

My enthusiasm lies more in the way of actually protecting this country, rather than starting a war which some people "believe" might protect this country (and many do not think it will.) I guess I like a sure thing, rather than a roll of the dice, that involves the certain death of Americans- even if those Americans happen to be soldiers.
