Dear Mr. Dirtbag,

This morning I heard statements from US army personnel to the effect that the destruction of Fallujah was deliberately delayed until after the election.

Was that because the Republicans knew they were going to win? And they wanted to make sure that an invasion of Fallujah didn't diminish their chances? OR was it because they knew that after they won the election they could do anything they wanted in Fallujah and nobody could do anything about it?

What if Bush had lost the election? Would there have been no invasion of Fallujah even though it was identified as an insurgent stronghold? Would Fallujah have been any less of an insrugent stronghold if Kerry had won?

If you believe in your military strategy, your tactics and your military intelligence, why would an attack be postponed until after an election?

Inquiring minds want to know.
