This is really the crux of your argument.

I can only speak for myself and the shorts I know and they are much more honest than any of the many "pumpers" I have known.

It's the same argument manipulators have used over and over. "We are right. We know best. We are the Batman. Let us do what we do best, protect the public from scams, because we, and only we,know best. Let us make the money so other scammers disappear." what you miss is that Joe Public is not helped by letting short scammers take their money instead of insiders and vulture financers.

As to your last paragraph, please re-read what I often post. I'M AGAINST MANIPULATION OF ALL KINDS. I would change the rules of convertibles, PIPE's, insider sales, tout manipulation and dumping, as well as preventing naked short selling, abuse of the exception by MM's and, finally, regulation and disclosure by hedge funds.

Do all that and you would have a market that is fair, honest and level for all, including retail investors.
