Alcohol is just a debilitating as marijuana, but both of them are dangerous and can cause grief for entire families.

IMO, alcohol has greater health consequences, but both can be hazardous if used irresponsibly and this is where many people get lost in this debate. Keeping pot illegal doesn't stop anyone from smoking. Many people are worried that if we legalize pot then it would be in our schools etc.....what they don't realize is that pot and other illegal drugs are ALREADY in our schools, they have been since since I was in high school (I graduated HS in 1970)! I saw a poll that asked high school students which was easier to obtain pot or beer? Better than 85% said pot. So, are our present laws effective and can they ever be? I say NO. People are starting to wake up to the fact that prohibition as a cure is worse than the disease.
