Viewer, as you seem to have some reading comprehension issues, let's just try to answer your questions AGAIN. If you don't mind, I'll slip in a couple of comments and welcome others to do the same.

=============================================================

I prefer easier shorting for all, in a clearly defined and regulated fashion, and not just in manipulative schemes as is the current system. MM's and hedgies, along with crooked managements and vulture financers have it pretty much to themselves. Apparently, this is what you are defending as you write as follows:

That's not what I said at all. What I did say and I'll ask you again (probably the 4th time now). If you had the choice of no shorts (what the most likely outcome will be if you get your way) or some shorts (as it is now) which do you choose?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The following statement of yours is a generalization and is not necessarily true. The ultimate naked short is the GTZ=go to zero, which is hoped will never have to be covered. I posted previously a very well-written piece as to how the scammers conspire to drive microcaps into the "cellar," i.e., .0001 x .0002, and then below, from which it is almost impossible to recover. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll repost.
Also the following comment fails to acknowledge the existence of transactions which take place overseas through internal desking. Again, search this board for articles. In fact, Truthseeker posted an article recently about the various types of shorting, which mentions this.
As part of my advocacy for clean markets, I also urge international trading to be part of market reform, through treaties and formal procedures.
You do realize that naked shorts get bought in too I hope. The clearing firms still have to have the paper.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

You call being against manipulation "ridiculous." I guess that point really doesn't need an answer. Res ipse loquitor.

I realize you are against any kind of manipulation as am I as is almost everyone, duh! That's a very noble cause and completely ridiculous at the same time because the market is where the crims hang out and always will since it is closely related to money.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I don't agree with this comment of yours. I believe that the playing field will be levelled, at least to a greater degree than at present. If you read my posts, you will also see that I am calling for the virtual elimination of convertible deals and discount PIPE's. At the very least, prohibit advance sale or shorting before total disclosure is made public.
I will ask again: DO YOU UNDERSTAND that what you are calling for will eliminate all shorting of cheap stocks and that would BE BAD FOR INVESTORS INCLUDING YOURSELF?
Do you or not comprehend this point?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I have posted many, many articles that say that the loopholes in Reg. Sho, pretty much make it no more than a good start. The grandfathering of previous scamms certainly is not warranted. Others have commented on the ability to trade off between member firms. Also the amendment with respect to non-member firms have no enforcement mechanism. There are many, many other arguments. Again, if you are interested, they are on this board. I can't keep doing the work for you.

As for the last couple of sentences, I really don't understand your point. If it's about shorting stocks in the "cellar" or "basement," I've answered that above. You have some ideas apparently, but don't want to even leave any room for even the basic argument that shorting is just a trading technique. It is just as subject to abuse and manipulation as any other trading technique. Where there is an opportunity to scam, scammers will take that opportunity. If rules can be stretched by the moneyed interests, they will be. These are not arguments of mine. They are truisms.

I believe there was 170ish stocks on sho today, big deal. That's not a widespread problem Ruff. I think it's not enough personally as most of them are "unshortable" from a retail standpoint and need to have some shorts in there to be healthy and maybe get squeezed or supported on the way down. Do I need to repeat my question about sho again to you?
