OT John, your post is logical and well articulated.

I'd prefer stronger incentives that move the country in a forwarding direction towards alternative sources of energy - admittedly solutions aren't turned on overnight, but am eternally optimistic engineers can solve hard problems like this, provided the incentives create the environment for them to do so.

Replying to your other post here, moving troops is a perfectly normal & certainly an expected task to do immediately after the 9/11 attack. However, other things performed by a certain corporation do not warrant lead-times, and this corporation knew the USA was going to go to war in Iraq, and they knew this somehow before Congress knew - how is that? This wasn't business executives making a calculated business risk, but executing on direction from govt guidance, probably Cheney. When exactly was the fabricated story created - was that prior to 6 months before the war?
