Bush's tax breaks for the rich cost the US about 100 billion a year in revenues. Now when you're running a 500 billion deficit per year, including and war and Katrina relief, how much sense does that make? Also, the people most rewarded are the extremely rich and idle rich, those who don't work. How wrong is that? Meanwhile, the overall tax and debt burden gets shifted to the middleclass. Kerry had the right idea, get the rich to help pay for the war. That's why he held up the 87 billion funding bill. He also wanted an accounting for where the money is going. Since then, many billions of our money have just disappeared in Iraq. No accounting whatsoever. Kerry was right.
