The way you framed it is a red herring. What is relevant is the courage required to die for one's people and cause, however rotten the cause. Of course murder is not brave.

Seems to me, though, that dying for one's own people and cause, assuming one is conscious enough to make that decision and not drugged or brainwashed, is brave, regardless of the rightness or wrongness of one's cause.
