No. Not in modern usage.

It's the first usage in Webster's. That should be worth something. And it's close enough that folks could embrace that meaning of "holiday" if they chose to. But the "banning" of Christmas is just too stuck in the collective craw.

Thanksgiving has become my favorite "special day".

I like Thanksgiving best, too. I think most people probably do. I don't celebrate any "holidays," but the essence of Thanksgiving resonates most with me.
