Currently, Ban decisions are done at the moderators' discretion. However; we intend to change the procedure to require a legitimate justification before a moderator can ban a member from a board. In fact, it's getting near the top of my project list.

We will also likely implement self-curing bans, meaning they will expire after a set interval. Only one of the site admins will be able to flag a ban as permanent.

The justification requirement will probably be instituted only on Investment forum boards. Possible justifications will be along the lines of:

Spam/Advertising
Vulgarity
Personal Attacks
Off-Topic Posting *
Disruptive Posting *

* Posting opinions of the subject matter contrary to the those of moderator and other members in and of itself will not be valid basis for banning someone. The exception may be for boards that are titled and run for purposes of cheerleading, such as "Intel Bulls Only" or Intel Bears Only". Of course, such board are of little value to investors since they only contain dialog of what people want to hear, worthless in comparison to a lively exchange of differing opinions.

Stay tuned to this board for further developments.
