Hughes Data grabs first GSA schedule contract

MONTGOMERY, Ala. -- Hughes Data Systems, the only current prime
contractor on the Air Force's Desktop V contract, captured approval for its first General Services Administration schedule contract this week.

Initial products offered will include notebooks, desktops and servers from Micron Electronics Inc. and printers from Lexmark International Inc.

HDS expects to add shortly products from a number of vendors for whom it holds letters of supply, including Compaq Computer Corp., Corel Corp., Digi International Inc., Newbridge Networks Inc., Paradyne Corp., Standard Microsystems Corp. and Symantec Corp.
