They attacked our allies with whom we had a contract. Thus they attacked us.
What contract? I am aware of no mutual defense treaty between Britain and Canada at that time (now there is NATO). In any case, Britain declared war on Germany FIRST, which would not activate a mutual defense treaty. If it did, you would be in Iraq with us because Canada and the US are both in NATO.

I'm not attacking the soldiers. I would never ever ever do that. I am lamenting the fact that kids have ALWAYS been manipulated into sacrificing their lives through the propaganda of their elders. It must be obvious to you that in a war BOTH sides claim to be in the right?

There's a problem here. You expect 70-year-old men to fight wars? Are you serious? Most couldn't lift the rifles! :-)
Of course the young fight the wars. Who else can?

What your solution amounts to is an end to war, and as Plato said "Only the dead have seen the end of war."
Now what?

The kids on BOTH sides are just pawns to protect the self interest of those rich people whom control Government and policy--the folks that live along the ridge of Lake Tahoe and whom can pay $20,000.00 for a door knob imported from Italy or somewhere. They have taught us to argue over right and wrong and to join this group or that.
Really? What happened to stopping genocide? Defending democracy from tyrants? Ending slavery? Could this be a bit more complex than that statement allows?

But for the LORDS of the Manor since time began it is not a matter of argument: It is a bullet or a dollar--and they are both the same.

But society was already organized by those with power and money--long ago and far away and back through the years. As you so rightly said: I don't influence Paul Martin! :-)
Has it EVER been otherwise? The People's Republics were conscious efforts to avoid just that. Is this what you advocate? Do you think Canada is really worse than them? Or ancient Sparta, another way of doing things?
