John, you do realize the post was talking about Samsung being competitive to Apple, not Intel. Intel sells chips and only chips, while Samsung competes in the consumer electronic industry that Apple also competes in. RE: "NAND has been falling in price by 30% to 40% per Mb per year." Sounds similar to the PC industry. RE: "If Apple were to go to Intel or AMD for NAND it would probably kick the stool out from under the NAND market. It would fund a whole new player and result in an over-supply in what is mostly a commodity market." Sounds like this would be Apple's absolute dream - cheaper NAND. What is the difference between NOR and NAND and why doesn't Intel just make NAND if it's such a volume play? Regards, Amy J
