Hello Elmo, no I don't think IBM is making a mistake developing applications in JAVA. If JAVA takes of, so does IBM but if JAVA fails, IBM has little or nothing to lose. Besides, they have to try their best to displace MSFT Windows and right now, JAVA is all the industry has to fight back.

But talking about NOVL....their plan is to develop everything in JAVA and rid themselves of NLM's. What if JAVA fails ? What if it does not perform to expectations as far as performance is concerned ? What if
it fails ? What if it fails ? Well, then NOVL fails and thats the bottom line. Good thing NOVL did not bet everything on the NEXt operating system. We would have a hell of a time telling TOY stories to our kids.
