OCC Receives Initial Stock Orders Worth $300,000 From Korean Distributors
Optical Cable Corporation (NASDAQ:OCCF) today announced that it was awarded a total of $300,000 in initial stock orders from two major Korean distributors, providing Optical Cable entry into the fast-growing Southeast Asian marketplace.
The latest order, signed yesterday, is for an initial stock order worth $200,000 from Daeho Netizens Company, the communications subsidiary of Daeho Corporation, a multi-billion dollar Korean conglomerate based in Seoul, Korea. The order is for a full line of Optical Cable Products which will be used in a diverse group of markets including shipbuilding, cable television, automotive, trucking and general contracting throughout Southeast Asia. The initial orders are anticipated to ship immediately and will be included in the Company's fourth quarter, which ends October 31, 1997.
Commenting on the order, Robert Kopstein, President and Chief Executive Officer said, "We are extremely pleased by our growing success in the international marketplace. We believe our growth abroad is a direct result of the strong relationships that we have been building and on the high quality of our products. This latest order is the largest stock order we have received from a distributor in our Company's history and we believe will be the beginning of a highly productive relationship."
Optical Cable Corporation manufactures and markets a broad range of fiber optic cables for "high bandwidth" transmission of data, video and audio communications over moderate distances. Optical Cable Corporation's cables can be used both indoors and outdoors and utilize a tight-buffered coating that protects the optical fiber.
