I would suggest that the Iraqi people are the ones that should have the oil of Iraq.

I don't buy the notion that we're keeping the terrorists from getting the oil. That's nonsense. First we wouldn't be sending terrorists money for oil, nor would any other western nation, and we could ensure that. Second, in the very unlikely event that the terrorists took over Iraq, the likely hood of them being able to get a drop of oil out of there is extremely low.

Right now the insurgents are keeping the US from pumping oil out of Iraq by blowing up pipelines and attacking refineries. Imagine the job we'd do on the pipelines and refineries if Al Qaeda tried to take them over? I think we can pretty much guarantee who is allowed to get oil out and get revenue in. And we can ensure that with no boots on the ground.
