Implant Sciences Takes New Orders for 14 Quantum Sniffer(TM) Explosives Detectors; Quantum Sniffers to Be Shipped to Customers in the U.S., a Former Republic of the Soviet Union, Middle East, and Italy
Business Wire - November 15, 2005 09:47

WAKEFIELD, Mass., Nov 15, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Implant Sciences Corporation (AMEX: "IMX", "IMX.WS") a developer and manufacturer of products for national security, medicine and industry, today announced new orders for fourteen (14) units of our Quantum Sniffer handheld and desktop explosives detection equipment to be shipped into the U.S. (1 unit), a former republic of the Soviet Union (10 units), the Middle East (2 units), and Italy (1 unit). The customers for these Quantum Sniffers include a U.S. based executive protection agency, a bank in the Middle East and the Italian military. Disclosure of the final disposition and use of the 10 units ordered for a former republic of the Soviet Union is not provided at the customer's request.

Dr. Anthony J. Armini, PhD., CEO of Implant Sciences, commented, "To date we have now taken orders for 179 units of our Quantum Sniffer explosives detectors for use in approximately 13 countries throughout the world, of which a significant quantity have already been shipped in accordance with customer requirements. We believe we have demonstrated our technology to be a highly sensitive, non-contact device that accurately detects a wide array of explosive materials, including PETN (the active component of Semtex), and is clearly differentiated from the competitive products. In the past week we also demonstrated our ability to produce and ship commercial quantities of the Quantum Sniffer. These new orders bring continued expansion of our geographic diversity of installations and increased awareness by government and private sector customers as to the possible security applications for our products. We are hopeful this awareness of the merits of the competitive differences of our technology will result in continued orders for our Quantum Sniffer explosives detection products."
