I find it as incomprehensible as you. Egyptian's virtual re-conquering of these portions of Israel has been the long sought prize; and now thru their surrogate, the PLO they have achieved through terror, what they couldn't achieve with their armies. Sharon was at the command when Israel took the Sinai; I guess it is only fitting that he be the one to preside over this
