Hi everybody
Coming out for a sec from my Lurk post...
I did the Political Compass pidgeonholing decades ago in a different context, i.e. the coordinates had other names: the vertical was called Assertiveness for instance, going from the top position with people going over dead bodies down to the bottom level with people you would not even notice, even were you alone with them in a room. In other words the capability of getting your (alpha) ego noticed. The other, orthogonal attribute was the ability of getting influenced by the environment, going from a loner on the left to a party animal on the right.
I know, I know, this is something completely different. BUT, how come Hitler, Maggie Thatcher are in the same corner? Gandhiji, Dalai Lama down left, as in that classification? Me again in the same spot as 25 years ago?
Strange... Because
a) I'm (-2.75,-6.41), so I'm in the left/bottom quadrant as a lot of active participants
b) this quadrant was called "amiable" in the classification mentioned above - the others I don't remember except top right being drivers....
Summary: Looks like the average person here is a non-assertive/ amiable, of left, right, middle-of-the-road kind, having a high regard/understanding for needs and motives of others ("who are or at least should be pretty much like me").
regards
your non-assertive dj
PS: ...and I would love to see MQ's score. My bet: 0,-10 |
