Prudential's Yeh, Taiwan's Top Investor, Invests in Solar Power Nov. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Bevan Yeh has become the best- performing fund manager in Taiwan in less than two years by betting on local producers of alternative energy as oil climbed to a record. Falling energy prices haven't changed his strategy. Prudential Securities Investment Trust Co.'s $50 million OTC Fund has gained 70 percent this year, the biggest advance among the 486 Taiwan-based funds ranked by Bloomberg News. The fund, which can only invest in the island's stocks, is set for its best year since its inception in 1996. ``Solar-power energy is more than a short-term fad caused by high oil prices,'' Yeh, 32, said in a Nov. 10 interview. ``Green energy is going to be an important source of power.''
