aarp is a huge money machine. i joined when 50. costs was something like a few bucks a year and you could pay five or ten year lump sum at greater discount. i did. well two years ago i saw what they now charge for zip.. nothing but a mag rag. and never gave them a cent.

I also thought aarp represents their own financial interests.. I wonder what they earn on aarp mutual funds, medicare supplements etc. you buy aarp medicare supplement which is united health care. Why not buy directly from united health care? Why do these people have to pay for a middle party to get exact same coverage and perhaps at a premium.

Why does aarp have such huge assets if non profit? Shouldn't they reduce assets? cut membership costs for example.

Hotel rates for aarp .. i always found you could get same rate by just asking for it.
