bobby -
i would stear clear of the industry. it has been shrinking and consolidating for about 5 years and will continue to do so at least into the next century. unlike mining, where reserves can be "created" (drilled off) and secured by property rights, the amount of work avail. to environmental consultants and contractors is alwasy knows (that is, you can't "drill off" new work). Also, the clients cannot be secured by property rights. Hence, it is a very fluid market that the companies compete in to win work.

i recommend stearing clear for at least several years.
