Gold and silver still rising in overnight trading?? For 20 years or so there has been a 90% inverse correlation with the dollar. Now out of nowhere gold and silver are just smoking. What is going on? The first guess of course would be a drop in the dollar or short covering. But the dollar is strong and gold has been here before and it is leading, sort of (silver has now broken cleanly thorough its ceiling). I am sure there is lots of short covering in silver having sliced through $8 like a hot knife through butter, but gold has an equally strong ceiling at $500. I am guessing something else is underneath all of this. Maybe we are close to the end of the world, but have not gotten the news yet-lol.
