I think the Ketchikan bridge is now dead! The $439 million was never enough to complete both the Anchorage and Ketchikan bridges plus all the associated road work, and it was always the intent to go back to Congress later for more money. So the actual savings will come in the future if only one bridge is built.

I'm also speculating that Alaska Congressman Don Young will retire or be bumped off in next year's election.
