Amazing to pay $400-450k for 1500 sf condo in gentrified hood when you can get a 2500 sf house for only $150-200k out in the burbs. there is a lot of that in Austin. i chalk it up to America's conformist yuppie culture. you can get a 2500 sf house in a 1970s neighborhood about 15 minutes south of town for low 200s, about 3% annual increase from 2000.
